What Exactly does Dave do at your School?

Dave takes individual classes or groups of around 30 students and explains how the animals hunt, how they perceive the world, how they use their senses, eat and catch their prey. The students then have the unique experience of handling and touching a crocodile, tarantulas, scorpions, snakes and large lizards.

 Q. Is it safe?

 A. Absolutely! Dave has many years of experience and uses only captive-bred animals which further assure their passivity. No risks are taken.

Q. What ages is the show suitable for?

 A. All ages are catered for, from preschools right through post-primary and on. Dave adjusts the show to suit the age groups.

Q. Is the show more suited to boys than girls?

 A. It is a common myth that girls are more nervous about these creatures, but in fact, this is not the case. They become as involved in the interaction with the animals.

Q. Spiders and snakes in my school, do I really want that?

 A. Irrational phobias are developed through childhood and come to full fruition in adulthood, by exposing kids before developing these fears they can then appreciate how wonderful the animals are.

Q What are your rates?

A. We do special rates for half day and full days (prices may vary depending on location)

Q. How long do you spend with each class?

A. 40 minutes plus is recommended

Q. Could we do 15-minute groups?

A. This is not practical and cannot be done as it causes undue stress on the animals and Dave.

Q We have a large school can you do all the classes in one day?

A. We can do large groups without any interaction with the animals which is still very engaging.

Q. Can you do long show for small groups?

A. Yes, we very often do 2hr + shows for Transition students which are popular.

Q. Is the show suitable for children with special needs?

A. For the most part, yes as most kids respond positively to the animals. Being tactile is also a positive aspect to the show.
